Fly Kauai subsidiary Kumilani Aviation, a new aviation school on Kauai is hosting an essay contest. Winners receive a free lesson in air and ground classes that can help a student to earn a private pilot’s license. Contestants will write about their passion for aviation for the contest. The school is located in a hangar office with quick access to the runway at the Lihue airport.

Kevin Britt, owner and operator of Kumulani Aviation, opened the school in March of 2012 and has been flying since 1989. He is successful with his business through his strong ties with the Hawaii aviation community and his extensive knowledge of airplane parts, fuel and other necessary functions that keep the school working properly.
